SPAN 345: Bilingualism in Span World
Course description
This course will first explore the nature of bilingualism, focusing on its neurolinguistic, psycholinguistic, and linguistic aspects. Students will examine the most important concepts and research questions in these areas. In addition, the class will focus on bilingualism in the United States and the Spanish-speaking world, including the examination of bilingual education programs (e.g., immersion programs) and important political matters connected to them.
In the class 345 Bilingualism in the Spanish Speaking World. The class is a requirement to fulfillment of MLOs 2 (Language and linguistics Knowledge). We have studied about bilingualism in the United States and the spanish- speaking world, including the analysis of bilingual education program and the important political connection with the programs. The issue we study in bilingualism that have people that speak two language. In this, class I learned the meaning of bilingualism. For me bilingualism is the person, who speak two language, and have the knowledge to communicate with others. Also, bilingualism is the base to know many cultures of the citizens that came from others countries that not are from US. I also learned that in the United States people who are bilingual usually use the "code switching". What I mean is that they speak Spanglish and all this depends on the place they are in or with whom they are talking. We discussed about all the changes we make in our vocabulary.
